Privacy Policy

What Frugalmax collects

Frugalmax stores the transactions you log (such as amount, category, note, and date) on your device so you can see your history, budgets, goals, subscriptions, and reminders. The app is local-first: your core financial data can stay on your device. If you have an active Frugalmax Pro subscription and enable Cloud Sync, we also store the financial data needed for cloud backup and multi-device sync.

Receipt photos are stored locally when you choose to attach them. A cloud receipt copy is uploaded only when active Pro access enables Cloud Sync. New cloud receipt copies are stored using Cloudflare R2. Older receipt copies may remain in Supabase Storage while we maintain compatibility with existing backups. Receipt photos are not needed for ordinary expense tracking.

What we don’t do

We do not sell your financial data. We do not send your transaction descriptions, amounts, budgets, goals, receipt contents, or account balance to an advertising network. We do not read your notifications or messages outside the app.

Optional rewarded ads

Some versions of Frugalmax may offer an optional rewarded ad. If you choose to watch one, the ad provider may process limited technical information needed to show the ad, measure whether it played, prevent fraud, and pay for the service. This may include your device type, operating system, app version, IP address, approximate location, advertising or app identifiers, and ad interaction data. The exact information depends on the ad provider, your device settings, and your consent choices.

Watching an ad is never required to use the basic app. A completed rewarded ad may give you one or three in-app credits to try an eligible Pro action. These credits are not money, are not transferable, and do not give the ad provider access to your financial records.

Frugalmax uses Google AdMob to provide optional rewarded ads. Google AdMob may process the technical information described above according to the Google Privacy Policy. You can limit ad personalization through your device settings and any consent choices shown in the app.

Notifications

Frugalmax schedules local reminders on your device (for example, to log a transaction or check a recurring bill). These are generated on your device and are not sent through a third party.

Account data

If you create an account, we store your email and limited information needed to operate the account. Financial records are uploaded only when active Pro access enables Cloud Sync. When Pro access ends, syncing stops and local device data remains available. The cloud copy is retained for up to 90 days to support renewal, then its personal financial records and receipt copies may be deleted. You can delete your account and associated cloud data from the app at any time.

Third-party services

Frugalmax uses service providers to operate parts of the app. Depending on which features you use, these may include:

  • Firebase for account sign-in, cloud data, push notifications, crash reporting, and subscription status updates.
  • Cloudflare R2 for new receipt copies when active Pro access enables Cloud Sync.
  • Supabase Storage for legacy receipt copies created before the move to Cloudflare R2.
  • RevenueCat and Google Play for Pro subscription purchases and entitlement information.
  • Cloudflare Workers for authenticated receipt access and for connecting eligible Pro scanning and voice features to external OCR or language services.
  • Open Food Facts and exchange-rate services for barcode lookups and currency conversion.
  • Google AdMob for optional rewarded ads.

Each provider receives only the information needed for its part of the service. Financial records are not provided to the advertising provider. Provider privacy policies and retention periods may differ from ours.

Children’s privacy

Frugalmax is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we’ll update the date above and, for significant changes, note it here.

  • August 30, 2026: Added Cloudflare R2 as the primary storage provider for new Pro cloud receipt copies and clarified continued Supabase compatibility for existing receipt copies.
